Made in the valley

The mountaineer is always with their harness slung over their shoulder. The rider in XXL pants. The trail runner in shorts 365 days a year. And tourists in sheepskin coats. Really? Style in the Valley is muMade in the Valley section

ch more than a mountain of clichés. Cool outdoor clothing was the hallmark long before athleisure became a trendy fashion concept.

Technical clothing, the new object of desire

Originally designed to tackle soggy trails and climb peaks, today the outdoor clothing that defines the Cham style has made its way into luxury homes.

Here, climbers, riders, trail runners, activists, and simply mountain lovers share the same obsession: protecting their playground and their living space. Our local shops are following suit. At Snell Sports, most brands offer lifetime repairs on clothing and accessories. Ravanel & Co complements its equipment rental service with winter sports clothing rentals. And After Ski Chamonix sells only secondhand items. Consume less, choose better, and keep for longer.

A sustainable wardrobe is also a desirable wardrobe. Clean lines, durable fabrics, and clothes that are as versatile as they are stylish. At the Sentier concept store, specialising in trail running, the ultra-stylish collections prove (if proof were needed) that you can love performance as much as fashion.

When the high mountains inspire ready-to-wear

Wearing outdoor gear every day, and far beyond our mountains, is no longer a trend; it's second nature. In 2023, Celio opened a pop-up store in the heart of the Marais district to celebrate its Chamonix-Mont-Blanc collection, launched in 2022. A small series of pieces that explore menswear in a more technical way, designed for both city wear and ski resort holidays. In 2025, the collaboration expands to women's clothing with Be Camaïeu. Warm and chic knitwear, perfect for snuggling up even far from the slopes. Here, in contrast to the trend of mass-market textiles, Florence and her niece Camille have created a ready-to-wear and accessories brand produced in very small batches. Beanies in soft hues, embroidered sweatshirts… Parenthèse Rock & Romance champions a sensitive approach to outdoor lifestyles, where the mountains aren't just a marketing backdrop, but a true anchor.
