Go out

Not just hungry, but craving a genuine experience too?

A visit to a teaching farm… smart move!

The idea behind “Mont Blanc Fermes Péda” is as simple as it is vital: to put farming back at the heart of the story.

The association supports local farmers, champions ecograzing, uses animals to control invasive plants, and offers visitors a taste of authentic rural life.
Summer or winter, even in between seasons, the doors of member farms are wide open for immersive, intelligent, and refreshingly interactive visits.
No peering from afar, no leaving with three fun facts — you’ll step into the barns, watch the knowhow at work, and soon enough, it’ll be your turn.
Learn to churn butter, craft tomme cheese, or press apple juice — simple, raw, and oh so good.

Farmers, farmers everywhere!

Across the Valley, the experiences are as plentiful as they are diverse.
At Gérard Berrux’s Pain de Chibon, meet Hérens cows, then taste bread still warm from the oven — a rare, committed place where biodiversity isn’t a slogan but a way of life.
Further on, at Croets Mastins, sheep’s cheese is produced before your very eyes — under the steady gaze of the guardian dogs.
At Vallorcine’s Ferme du Vieux Guide, it’s full-on immersion: goats, mules, pigs, vegetable garden — and that wonderful sense of pressing pause on time.
Ferme de Montroc, Les 3 Terres in Chavants, and Ferme de Vallorcine complete the picture, combining dairy production, Brown Swiss cattle, and landscapes too stunning ever to need a filter.

Fondue in a yurt: Savoyard Mongolia

For dinner that’s truly out of the ordinary, head to the yurt of Evolution 2 Chamonix.
Meet at Argentière train station for a gentle 30 minute walk – just enough to leave the village behind and work up an appetite.
On arrival, the fire crackles, the apéritif bubbles, and the soup steams – you’re close to home but already miles away.
Inside the yurt, the ambience is snug, glowing, and joyously simple:
local cheese fondue, regional charcuterie, dessert, and a quarter-litre of wine – all you need to share stories, laugh, and lose track of the hour.
Evenings run every Wednesday – more if you come as a group.
The walk back is gentle, the digestion slow, and the memories warm.
