ConnectChamonix Photo Festival : Open Your Eyes and Start the Debate (End of October)
Pack up those awful selfie sticks and head (quickly, because it only lasts for one weekend) to the Chamonix Photo Festival. From Servoz to Vallorcine, the festival showcases both indoor and outdoor events (don't miss the prints on gigantic tarpaulins). Each year, the expanding program includes competitions, screenings, conferences, and masterclasses (including for kids). In addition to dazzling us with breathtaking 100% nature images, this dedicated international event also aims to bear witness to the times and remind us "that climate change is not a big joke," says its President, Mario Colonel.
From Servoz to Vallorcine
3rd edition from October 31 to November 2, 2025
La Nuit de la Glisse : A fully captivating experience. (early November)
A change of scenery, the focus is on adrenaline and extreme sports. La Nuit de la Glisse features two complementary films screened on the same evening, selected for their shared quest: the search for the perfect moment, combining freedom, aesthetics, and expertise. From the steep slopes of Mont Blanc to the monstrous waves of Teahupo'o, via the icy rapids of Norway, you'll get your fill of thrills, but oh-so-comfortably, nestled in the warmth of your cosy cinema chair – popcorn at the ready.
Event Tour from October 31 - November 13, 2025
In theatres on November 14 and 16

The iF3, Chamonix, France 2025 : The Cannes Film Festival of the Ski World (Early December)
The red carpet on a white blanket, the International Freesports Film Festival puts on a show in Cham. The world's largest gathering of independent ski and snowboard film producers, iF3, has come a long way since its first edition in Canada in 2007. Like a glimpse of the winter ahead, pros and snow sports enthusiasts gather for an entire weekend around a hundred cutting-edge screenings (in the presence of directors, riders, and athletes), daytime mountain workshops as vibrant as the DJ sets at the opening party. And to test out your future skis, head to the IF3 base camp at Grands Montets with The North Face and Smith. The best way to officially declare winter open.

A tribute evening to Max Linder, a pioneer of the 7th art (Dec 5)
The same venue as the iF3 or La Nuit de la Glisse (at the VOX), but with a very different atmosphere: crackling film reels and black and white images of Chamonix in the 1910s for this Max Linder tribute evening. A single visit was all it took for Max Linder, one of the greatest international figures of silent film, to fall in love with the Valley. It became one of his favourite filming locations, and starting in 1910, he shot at least three short films there. These tender and humorous works, which we now regard as early documentaries on winter sports, offer a rare look at Chamonix and its atmosphere at the dawn of the 20th century. A true pioneer of his genre.
